By standing together and extending compassion, we continue to strengthen our community and ensure that no one is left behind during the holiday season.
2024 Christmas Toy Drive with Acacia Network
This holiday season, Positivity Persists brought joy to over 200 children at the Ruth Fernandez Family Residence through our toy distribution. The excitement and smiles we witnessed were a heartwarming reminder of our mission—to bring hope, connection, and generosity to the community. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our volunteers and donors, whose dedication continues to inspire and uplift those around us. Moments like these reinforce the importance of collective action in building stronger, more compassionate communities.

We are grateful to community leaders like Flatbush Development Corporation (FDC), Centers Urgent Care of Newkirk Plaza, and NewYork-Presbyterian, as well as the many dedicated organizations that made this event a success. Food Pantry Distribution with Center for Family Life
Our food pantry collaboration with the Center for Family Life was a powerful reminder that nourishment goes far beyond meals. Together, we provided essential groceries to families facing food insecurity, but just as importantly, we created space for connection, dignity, and joy. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to community-rooted partnerships that uplift the neighborhoods we call home. By standing alongside trusted local organizations like the Center for Family Life, we’re not only addressing hunger; we’re helping to build stronger, more compassionate communities.
2024 Ramadan Iftar Dinner with Quba Masjid
Our 2024 Iftar Meal Distribution in collaboration with Masjid Quba was a meaningful initiative to bring nourishment and togetherness to our community during the holy month of Ramadan. By providing wholesome meals to individuals and families breaking their fast, we aimed to ease burdens, foster unity, and honor the spirit of generosity and compassion that defines this sacred time. This effort reflects our shared commitment to supporting those in need and celebrating the strength of our diverse community.
2025 Ramadan Iftar Dinner with Quba Masjid
Our 2025 Iftar with Hazrat Belal Jame Masjid was a collaborative effort to meet people where they are: with warmth, intention, and real support. This wasn’t just about observing Ramadan; it was about building trust and connection with a community that’s been showing up for decades. The turnout reminded us that even simple acts, like handing someone a hot meal, can be deeply meaningful. We’re proud of what we accomplished together, and we’re even more proud of how many hands came together to make it happen.
Food Pantry Distribution with Camp Friendship
Our food pantry collaboration with Camp Friendship Brooklyn was about more than providing meals – it was about uplifting spirits and fostering connection. The vibrant energy and shared sense of purpose highlighted the power of community and the impact of small acts of kindness. This initiative reflects our commitment to addressing food insecurity while creating meaningful experiences that strengthen and support those we serve.
Hygiene Kit Distribution with Brooklyn Emerge
At Brooklyn Emerge, our team led a dedicated hygiene kit distribution tailored for families transitioning through shelter. The kits included essential items like deodorant, soap, socks, toothbrushes, and first-aid supplies, everyday basics that are too often out of reach for those navigating housing insecurity. But beyond the items themselves, this initiative was about restoring dignity and offering a moment of stability. The gratitude and conversations we shared with residents reminded us that true service is rooted in empathy, not just provision.
Hygiene Kit Distribution with Albemarle Family Residence
Our outreach at Albemarle Family Residence focused on supporting residents with thoughtfully assembled hygiene kits and resource access. In a space where families are often rebuilding from difficult transitions, we aimed to bring more than just supplies—we wanted to deliver a sense of solidarity. Many of the people we met reflected the same neighborhoods and backgrounds we come from, making the experience feel deeply personal. This initiative reinforced the importance of returning to the places that raised us, and of ensuring that every family, no matter their circumstances, feels seen, supported, and respected.
Clean and Positively Green NYC with Heartshare
As part of our Clean and Positively Green NYC initiative, we partnered with HeartShare this spring for a transformative community clean-up. While the residents who joined us aren’t pictured to honor their privacy and safety, their presence was the driving force behind the day’s impact. Together, we cleared litter, shared stories, and reclaimed shared spaces with pride and purpose. This project was about more than tidying sidewalks, it was about reminding each other that care for our environment is a reflection of care for ourselves and one another.
